Welcome to 2024! let me introduce myself to those who don't know me - My name is Sarah, i have now owned Blushous for 6months and can i just say, WOW! what an adventure it has already been. (i mean, its taken me 6 months and few days off on holiday to have the time to write this!)
a little back ground on how i got to be the very proud and excited owner of what is going to be Townsville's finest 'lady space'........
for the past 8 years i have been working hard in my home salon, just a pocket sized space under my family home. this space was fabulous as i had two small children to care for while my husband earnt the big bucks working away. initally i was nervous that people wouldn't follow me there as it was at my home and back then, it was not ideal to have a home salon. it suggested that the hairdresser was quite an incompetent and lagging stylist. i couldn't have been more wrong.......my intimate space was one where many women visited and became my friends. they laughed, spilt the T, cried and shared many words of wisdom with myself and one another. to my surprise, most adored it so much that when i told them all i was moving to a bigger space, they weren't as excited as i was. i was confused by this, but soon realised the intimate nature of my home salon was what my ladies loved when 'having their hair done'. pluuuuus, i could keep my prices lower than other salons as my running costs weren't as high. so for them, a big salon was not appealing. which i completely understand and totally agree with and i sincerely thank you all for trusting me and coming over anyways. i believe that it's not the room that brings the love, but the people in it. just like my home salon, Blushous will also be the haven for the love and kindness everyone gives each other, it's just a little bigger, so much love!
before my home space, i owned Sapphire Hair. this salon was pumping! it was super fun and booming! always people everywhere (i'm even getting too tired to keep up with that type of workplace, plus, the 'busy' vibe is one we definitely need to leave out of the hair salon). Ray Ray was my apprentice back then and after 8 years on the Gold Coast creating fabulous hair, she is back and excited to make Blushous her new hair home in Townsville. Ray specialises in hair extensions and colour...shes pretty amazing, check out her instagram = rayzhair_co.
all that said, my vision for Blushous is not to replicate Sapphire, nonetheless, keep the intimate vibe from home. ensuring everyone feels warmth and comfort when they step into Blushous. 'having your hair done' means so many different things to people. some come to have the latest hair, some more so to vent, some to chat, some to have down time from their busy lives. some, like me just need to 'whack it on' so they don't end up looking like a bad 2001 hair trend https://images.app.goo.gl/5jin1ZCu6bGjcZEt8...... what ever your reason, we will make our beauty space your safe space and one you look forward to visiting.
